New Delhi, Oct 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday described this year’s Diwali as “special,” highlighting that after a long wait of 500 years, Lord Ram will celebrate the festival for the first time at the newly constructed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. In a video conference, he extended heartfelt greetings to citizens on Dhanteras, emphasizing the significance of this year’s celebration.
“This Diwali is particularly special. For the first time in 500 years, Lord Ram is seated in his grand temple in Ayodhya, and this will be the first Diwali celebrated with him in his magnificent temple. We are all fortunate to witness such a remarkable occasion,” PM Modi remarked.
During the event, the Prime Minister also congratulated the youth who received appointment letters under the Rozgar Mela. “Today, on this auspicious day, we are distributing appointment letters for government jobs to 51,000 youth. I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all of you. The process of providing permanent government jobs to lakhs of youth across the country is ongoing. Appointment letters have been issued to countless young individuals, including in BJP and NDA-ruled states,” he stated.
PM Modi expressed special recognition for the youth receiving appointment letters in the Haryana government, noting the administration’s unique approach. “The government in Haryana provides jobs without any expenditure or slip. Today, I specifically congratulate the youth receiving appointment letters in Haryana. It’s commendable that the newly formed government has started strong by providing employment opportunities to around 26,000 youths,” he added.
Highlighting the growth of the Khadi industry, PM Modi noted that sales have surged by 400 percent compared to the UPA government, reflecting the sector’s positive impact on artisans, weavers, and traders. “This growth leads to increased employment opportunities and boosts economic development,” he remarked. He further stated, “In the last 10 years, our policies have transformed the Khadi and Gramodyog landscape, improving the lives of those in rural areas. The Khadi Gramodyog is currently generating business worth over 1.5 lakh crore annually.”
PM Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting women’s economic independence through initiatives like the Lakpati Didi Yojana. “This program has empowered rural women with employment and self-employment opportunities. Over the past decade, 10 crore women have joined Self-Help Groups (SHGs), allowing them to earn a livelihood. Our goal is to make 3 crore women Lakpati Didis, earning over Rs. 1 lakh annually, with 1.25 crore already achieving this milestone,” he stated.
He urged government employees to set an exemplary standard for the world to follow, stating, “You must strive for excellence! Today’s aspirational India has high expectations, and it’s our responsibility to meet those expectations. Together, we can build a brighter future and a ‘Viksit Bharat.'”
Earlier today, PM Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth under the Rozgar Mela through video conferencing. This initiative underscores the Prime Minister’s commitment to prioritizing employment generation and empowering youth with meaningful opportunities for nation-building.
