The holy month of Ramzan will commence on Sunday, March 2, as the crescent moon was not sighted anywhere in the country on Friday.
Shahi Imam of Chandni Chowk’s Fatehpuri Mosque, Maulana Mufti Mukarram Ahmed, confirmed that due to cloudy weather in Delhi-NCR, the moon remained unseen. Efforts were made to confirm the sighting from various locations, including Gujarat, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, but no reports of the moon sighting were received.
Ahmed stated that the Kutch region of Gujarat, a usual point of first sightings, also did not report any confirmation this year. As a result, it has been officially decided that the first fast of Ramzan will be observed on Sunday, March 2.https://news39.in/
