On the eve of Vijayadashami and Gandhi Jayanti, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Their messages emphasize values of peace, unity, and the triumph of good over evil.
In his message, LG Sinha said, “On the joyous occasion of Vijayadashami, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all for their happiness, well-being and prosperity. Vijayadashami symbolizes the victory of good over evil and righteousness over unrighteousness. Paying rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 156th birth anniversary, LG Sinha remarked, “I pay my heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation. This is an occasion for all of us to rededicate ourselves to internalizing Bapuji’s ideals of peace, non-violence, truth, tolerance, compassion, and selfless service.” He further highlighted Gandhi’s commitment to India’s freedom and social equity, underscoring the importance of supporting local artisans and cottage industries while urging citizens to embrace Swadeshi products.
