Union Home Minister Amit Shah Hails Indian Soldiers’ Valor on Kargil Vijay Diwas

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the bravery of Indian soldiers during the Kargil War, commemorating their decisive role in the conflict that took place on the treacherous heights of the Himalayas. Shah’s remarks came on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a day dedicated to honoring the valor and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.

In a post on social media platform X, Shah emphasized the remarkable courage demonstrated by the soldiers, who, despite the formidable challenges posed by the rugged terrain, managed to force the enemy forces into retreat and proudly rehoist the Indian Tricolour in Kargil.

“Kargil Vijay Diwas stands as a testament to the unwavering resolve and bravery of our soldiers. During the Kargil War, they displayed unmatched valor in the inaccessible hills of the Himalayas and compelled the enemy army to kneel, making the nation proud,” Shah said. He expressed profound gratitude for the sacrifices made by the soldiers, vowing that their contributions would never be forgotten.

The Kargil Vijay Diwas marks the successful culmination of ‘Operation Vijay,’ which concluded on July 26, 1999, after nearly three months of intense fighting in the icy heights of Kargil in Ladakh. This day is observed annually to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the conflict.

Shah concluded his message with a heartfelt salute to the soldiers, acknowledging their courage and dedication in defending the motherland.
