The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Poonch, organized a district-level trial and selection event for Under-19 boys’ cricket at the Sports Stadium Poonch. The trials attracted participation from students representing all 11 zones of the district.
The event was overseen by Mool Raj Uttam, the District Youth Services and Sports Officer for Poonch, who ensured the trials were conducted with transparency and fairness. To uphold the integrity of the selection process, a dedicated committee was established.
Pawan Kumar, a Physical Education Lecturer, was appointed as the convener of the selection committee. The committee also included Rajendra Singh Toofan (PET), Vijay Sharma (PEM), Iftekhar Ahmed (PET), Jogander Singh (PET), Gurvinder Singh (PET), Pervaiz Ahmed Malik (REK), Imran Khan (REK), and Syed Talit Waseem (REK).
The primary goal of the trials was to identify and nurture talented young cricketers from the district, offering them opportunities to advance in the sport and potentially represent higher levels of competition.
