In a recent disclosure to the Lok Sabha, Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh revealed that more than 12,000 grievances filed through the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) public grievance portal are currently pending resolution. The portal, accessible at www.Pmindia.Gov.In, serves as a centralised platform for registering complaints related to various central ministries, departments, states, and Union territories.
Minister Singh highlighted that each grievance receives a unique registration ID upon filing, facilitating tracking and follow-up by concerned authorities. According to data provided, between January and June of this year, a total of 58,612 complaints were registered, with an additional 34,659 carried over from the previous year.
Of these, a significant portion, totaling 80,513 complaints, have been successfully redressed by the respective ministries and departments. However, 12,758 complaints remain unresolved as of the latest update.
The minister emphasized that the majority of grievances are typically addressed in less than 30 days, underscoring the efficiency of the redressal process. In 2023, the portal received a staggering 1,84,227 complaints, with 1,69,273 being resolved within the same year. Nonetheless, 34,659 complaints continue to await resolution, reflecting ongoing challenges in addressing public grievances promptly.
Regarding complaints related to state governments and Union territories, the data revealed that 46,696 complaints were received between January and June of this year. Out of these, 46,219 complaints were successfully redressed, leaving 26,201 grievances pending.
In the previous year, a total of 91,973 complaints were lodged against state governments and Union territories. Of these, 2,58,633 complaints were resolved, including those carried forward from the previous year, while 25,724 complaints remain unresolved.
The disclosure highlights the substantial volume of grievances handled by the PMO’s portal and underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance administrative efficiency in resolving public concerns across India.
