Jammu, Sept 2: In a move aimed at strengthening its outreach to the business and trading community, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday appointed senior party leader Sham Lal Langer as the Incharge of the Trade Cell for Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
The announcement was made following approval from the party leadership. With this new responsibility, Langer will coordinate with traders, address sector-specific issues, and work towards building a stronger bridge between the business fraternity and the party.
Sham Lal Langer, who has long been associated with social and community initiatives, has maintained a close connect with the trading community of the region. His appointment is being viewed as part of BJP’s larger strategy to give representation to economic stakeholders and ensure their concerns find space in policymaking.
Speaking after his appointment, Langer expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership. “I am thankful for the faith reposed in me. I will strive to take up the concerns of the trade community with utmost seriousness and ensure that growth-friendly policies reach the grassroots in Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.
Party leaders and workers welcomed the appointment, calling it a significant step in reinforcing BJP’s organizational structure in the Union Territory.
