: Haryana Police have arrested a suspect in the brutal murder of Congress activist Himani Narwal, with investigators revealing that she was strangled using a mobile charger cable.
Rohtak Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Krishna Kumar Rao informed the media on Monday that the accused, identified as Sachin, a resident of Jhajjar town, has been taken into custody. Sachin, who runs a mobile phone shop, had allegedly been in contact with Himani for over a year and a half.
Himani’s body was discovered stuffed in a suitcase near the Sampla bus stand in Rohtak district on Saturday. Following her identification by her parents, police swiftly formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and claimed to have cracked the case within 36 hours.
According to police, Sachin visited Himani at her Vijaynagar residence on the evening of February 27. An argument between the two reportedly escalated, leading Sachin to strangle her using a mobile charger cable. After committing the crime, he fled with her phone, laptop, and jewelry. However, he later returned to dispose of the body.
In an attempt to cover up the murder, Sachin placed Himani’s body in a suitcase along with a blood-soaked blanket, transported it in a three-wheeler, and abandoned it at the Sampla bus stand.
Authorities have stated that further investigation is ongoing.
