Dr. Tahir Rufayee to Visit Doda for NFJM Outreach Events

Jammu, October 7 — Dr. Tahir Rufayee, the National Chairman of the National Foundation for Journalism and Media (NFJM), will visit Doda district on October 16 and 17. This visit forms part of his outreach tour across Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at enhancing communication and collaboration in journalism.

During this two-day engagement, Dr. Rufayee will interact directly with members of civil society. He plans to hold grievance redressal camps and review local media initiatives and communication strategies under the NFJM’s objectives. This initiative underscores the NFJM’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by journalists and media practitioners in the region.

The itinerary will include welcome receptions and visits to various key locations including Batote, Assar, Khellani, Doda town, Pranoo, Bhalla, and Bhaderwah. Each location presents an opportunity for Dr. Rufayee to connect with local media representatives and assess the journalism landscape.

The primary goal of the visit is to bolster the coordination between the NFJM and local media outlets. By addressing grievances related to journalism and the operations of digital media, the event seeks to promote grassroots participation in ethical and responsible journalism.

According to NFJM officials, the events in Doda and Bhaderwah will incorporate interactive sessions. These sessions will target journalists, youth, and local public representatives, fostering discussions about the evolving media environment. Engaging with the community is a vital aspect of this outreach effort.

Dr. Rufayee will be accompanied by prominent editors, lawyers, and former bureaucrats, enhancing the expertise and experience available during these interactions. This collaboration aims to provide comprehensive insights into current journalism practices and challenges within the region.
