BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh addressed a series of gatherings in Doda today, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) is witnessing a new era of confidence and optimism due to the development policies and programs initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Criticism of Local Leaders
Chugh launched a strong critique of the Abdullahs and Muftis, accusing them of collaborating with forces from across the border to incite unrest in the Valley. He alleged that these leaders had hindered progress and contributed to the region’s turmoil by aligning with elements seeking to destabilize the area.
“The entire J&K has a significant role to play, and we are on the brink of a new beginning,” Chugh remarked. He emphasized that the people of Jammu and Kashmir had delivered a decisive blow to the former Chief Ministers, Abdullah and Mufti, demonstrating their desire for change and progress.
Support for Development and Trust
Chugh stressed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Jammu and Kashmir must advance on the path of trust and development. He condemned attempts by Pakistan to instigate fear and violence in the region, asserting that such actions would not be tolerated by the Indian government.
Exposing Past Failures
Chugh also criticized the self-serving politics of the Abdullah, Mufti, and Gandhi-Nehru families, alleging that these leaders prioritized their own interests over the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted how these families failed to address the suffering of the region during the 1990 massacres, further exacerbating the turmoil.
Support from BJP Leaders
The event also featured speeches from several senior BJP leaders. Former Minister Sunil Sharma, Vice President and former Minister Shakti Raj Parihar, and former MLA Dilip Parihar, among others, supported Chugh’s statements and underscored the party’s commitment to advancing development in J&K.
The BJP leaders collectively reiterated their dedication to ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir moves forward on a path of progress, leaving behind the legacy of conflict and instability.
