Tarun Chugh Critiques Farooq Abdullah on Operation Sindoor

BJP national general secretary and party in-charge for Jammu & Kashmir, Tarun Chugh, criticized National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Monday following Abdullah’s comments undermining Operation Sindoor and the crucial role played by security forces in counter-terrorism efforts.

Chugh responded emphatically to Abdullah’s assertion that the operation “did not achieve anything,” calling it “shameful” that Abdullah and his family “do not respect the sacrifices of the Armed Forces.” He highlighted the vital contributions made during Operation Sindoor, which targeted and destroyed multiple terrorist training centers in Pakistan after the tragic killing of 26 civilians in Pahalgam by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.

Chugh underscored that Operation Sindoor is ongoing and referred to the recent explosion at the Nowgam Police Station as a “reminder” of the bravery exhibited by security forces in their battle against Pakistan-backed terrorism.

He expressed disbelief at Abdullah’s comments, suggesting they indicated support for the machinations of the Pakistani state. “It is shocking,” Chugh said, “for Farooq Abdullah to question our security forces amidst the discovery of one of the largest terror plots in recent years by J&K Police and intelligence agencies.”

Targeting Abdullah directly, Chugh posed a critical question: “Are you attempting to sympathize with individuals who amassed 2,900 kilograms of explosives intended for the murder of innocent civilians?” He deemed the foiled terror plot “colossal in scale,” emphasizing the potential devastation that could have ensued without the intervention of J&K Police and other agencies.

Tragically, nine police and revenue personnel lost their lives in the Nowgam Police Station blast while securing these deadly explosives. Chugh described this incident as “heartbreaking for the entire nation,” stressing the need to honor the sacrifices of these martyrs rather than diminishing their efforts.

Criticizing Abdullah further, Chugh accused him of failing to recognize the valor of security personnel while instead, choosing to amplify “the language of Pakistan.” He argued that Abdullah’s comments showcase the behavior of the so-called ‘Gupkar Gang’, questioning whether political figures from Congress and Rahul Gandhi support such statements while advocating for their “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan” campaign.

Chugh’s denunciation of Abdullah’s remarks reflects the broader tensions over security and nationalism in Jammu & Kashmir, bringing to light the polarizing opinions surrounding the situation. As both leaders engage in a war of words, the spotlight remains on the sacrifices made by security forces and the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.
